5 Seconds of Summer
Overview
5 Seconds of Summer (often abbreviated as 5SOS) are an Australian pop rock band from Sydney, New South Wales. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Luke Hemmings, lead guitarist Michael Clifford, bassist Calum Hood, and drummer Ashton Irwin.
Career
5SOS formed in 2011 and gained popularity through social media, particularly YouTube and Twitter. They released their debut EP, "Unplugged", in 2012, followed by their debut studio album, "5 Seconds of Summer", in 2014. The album debuted at number one in several countries, including Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The band has since released four more studio albums: "Sounds Good Feels Good" (2015), "Youngblood" (2018), "Calm" (2020), and "5SOS5" (2022). They have also embarked on several world tours and won numerous awards, including two MTV Video Music Awards and five ARIA Awards.
