Eddie Hearn Admits to Heated Exchange With Rival Promoter Before Joshua-Dubois Showdown
Boxing News: Hearn and Warren Clash Over Dubois Fight
Eddie Hearn, the promoter for British heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, has admitted to having a heated exchange with rival promoter Frank Warren in the lead-up to Joshua's upcoming fight against Jermaine Franklin.
The two promoters have been at odds for years, and their rivalry reached a boiling point last week when Hearn accused Warren of trying to sabotage Joshua's fight with Franklin.
Warren denied the accusations, but Hearn has since revealed that he had a heated exchange with the veteran promoter.
"I spoke to Frank last week, and it was a heated conversation," Hearn told Sky Sports.
"He was saying things that were completely untrue, and I had to put him in his place."
Hearn did not reveal what was said in the conversation, but he said that he is confident that Joshua will be victorious in his fight against Franklin.
"Anthony is the best heavyweight in the world, and he will prove it again on April 1st," Hearn said.
Joshua is the overwhelming favorite to beat Franklin, who is a relatively unknown fighter.
However, Franklin has promised to give Joshua a tough fight, and he believes that he can pull off the upset.
"I know that I am the underdog, but I am not afraid of Anthony Joshua," Franklin said.
"I am going to give him a tough fight, and I believe that I can win."
The fight between Joshua and Franklin will take place on April 1st at the O2 Arena in London.
The winner of the fight will likely face the winner of the rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.
